Our Legacy

The Ejuchegahi Angwa Foundation honors the legacy of Ugwuoke Oloto, a respected village king in Enugu, Nigeria. A prominent advocate for education, Oloto was influential in establishing community schools with early Christian missionaries by donating land for this purpose. After his death in 1965, his efforts were sustained by Princess Victoria, one of his daughters, and her husband Emmanuel, who sought to formalize Oloto's philanthropic work.

Initially, activities continued unofficially from 1971 onwards until the foundation's official registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria in 2018. Prior to registration, the foundation operated under various names, including "The Light of the World," from 2008 to 2018. The foundation is also registered with Nigeria's regulatory bodies such as the EFCC and FIRS.

Through initiatives such as book donations in 2009 and 2012 to commemorate Oloto's anniversaries, the foundation continues to celebrate his dedication to education and community service, ensuring his legacy endures and benefits future generations.
